Beautiful Biscuits for Berin Made

We were super chuffed when the lovely Erin Hung from Berin Made asked us to get involved with the #Berinmade Book Launch.

Berin Made was founded upon a love of fanciful illustrations and beautifully crafted lettering resulting in beautiful paper goods for the loved and the cherished. The studio specialises in stunning stationery, custom stamps and wedding paper goods.

Erin was putting together some Thank You baskets/hampers for sponsors and friends and was looking for some special sweet treats to include.

Erin shared some sneak peaks from the book with us, and if they are anything to go by, the book is going to be stunning!

Inspired from the stunning images from the book, we came up with gem biscuits, sweet biscuits and some branded logo biscuits using the beautiful hand drawn font featured in the book.

Mini Gingerbread Houses for Fortnum & Mason’s Ice Cream Parlour

The bakery was filled with the delicious aroma of Christmas spice this week as we were making gingerbread houses for these amazing gingerbread sundaes served at The Parlour at Fortnum & Mason.

This sundae is inspired by the Hansel & Gretel house and is made up of four ‘deconstructed’ sides of gingerbread filled with all manner of delicious ice cream treats, sweets & sauces.  Simply stunning!

For the order, we baked hundreds of mini gingerbread pieces – four for each house. Here are the side pieces on sheets of baking parchment waiting to go into the oven.

Once all the pieces had been cut and baked, we started the delicate task of assembling the shell of the houses. It’s tricky work constructing gingerbread and takes time and patience and light fingers!

Once they had dried overnight, the houses were carefully packed and shipped off to the parlour at Fortnum’s for the chef’s to work their magic.  We were really chuffed to play our small part in creating these delightful and delectable desserts!

If we’ve inspired you to turn your hand to making some mini gingerbread houses then you might like our mini gingerbread house kit – each kit comes with all the pieces you need to construct the mini houses already baked. Great fun and super yummy tasting too! We have lots of other gingerbread gifts available too.

If you’re a retailer looking to source gingerbread biscuit products for either your foodservice or food / gift halls then do drop us a line via our wholesale iced biscuits enquiry form and we’d be happy to send you a copy of our Wholesale Christmas Iced biscuit brochure.

Biscuits to launch Harrod’s Summer 2016 Sale

At the Nila Holden Bakery, we have a lot of expertise in creating 3D biscuits, based on our experience of making our unique 3D biscuit birdhouses and christmas gingerbread houses so we were super excited when Harrod’s commissioned us to make some 3D biscuits to launch their Summer 2016 Sale.

Together we came up with the idea of making some 3D replicas of their iconic green bag all made entirely of biscuit and completely edible. This coincided nicely with the installation of a giant Harrods Bag outside the store, and tied in with  one of the campaign hashtags #mygreenbag

Each bag was made up of 5 individual biscuits, beautifully iced and carefully constructed as you can see in the video below:

We also decided to fill the bags with some mini fashion treats including dress, shoe and lipstick biscuits.

And here’s the finished result!

Don’t they look amazing? We were so pleased with the finished biscuits, they certainly provided the wow factor the sale launch and proved a real hit on social media alongside the smallerHarrods Bag & fashion biscuits we made!
